Talk:Battle Sai (3.5e Equipment)

What do you think about the choice to have a higher crit range or a bonus to your trip attempt? Is it a lame idea and I should just say you get both all the time, or keep it the way it is?

Also, I have a thing with alliterations, the other name I was thinking of using was "Skirmishing Sai". Would that be a superior name to Battle Sai?

Any other comments are appreciated as well. The Dire Reverend 10:01, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

If you had both bonuses active simultaneously, the only real differences would be that a character could attack normally and disarm in the same round without being bad at one or the other, and the DM would never say "Ha ha! You forgot to declare that you were going to disarm with the Sai this round, so you don't get a +4 bonus to all those disarm attempts that you want to make!"
In other news, alliteration is a pretty good thing. --Foxwarrior 11:02, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
I just don't want to make the SRD Sai become useless, that's the only reason I made it be one or the other. The Dire Reverend 11:06, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
The SRD Sai is a throwing weapon. This is one-handed instead of light. If you want to completely avoid overshadowing the SRD Sai, maybe reduce this Sai's damage to be equal. --Foxwarrior 11:11, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

Monk Weapon/Proficiency[edit]

I know the original owner isn't here ( :( ), but don't others think this should be a monk weapon? And should monks be proficient? I would imagine it shares proficiency and weapon focus with sais. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 13:53, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
