Accessibility to exotic weapons is nice, but with the recent resurgence of exotic weapons that offer a lot of special attack options, this feat might end up in VH territory by next year.

For regular exotics it is a fine feat.

A helpful feat in moderate games when you want an exotic fighter who uses several unusual weapons but can't afford to spend all their feats on EWPs.

Trolling for opinions

Not that I think its a problem, but I did have a player question the validity and power of this feat. So I open it up for discussion. So... what think? Discuss. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 04:55, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

'Does the 1st Level only part only count if you have only one Martial Weapon Proficiency? - Kylem2013 (talk) 05:03, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Prereqs are inclusive. If you have all martial weapon proficiency, you qualify for one martial weapon proficiency. Much like how you qualify for Weapon Finesse (Requires BAB +1) even if you have BAB +6. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:05, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Bump on this request, it's still open for question. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:48, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
Opinions on this feat I has!
A month ago, I'd have shrugged my shoulders at the questioning player. Most of the exotics open up really minor things or small numbers boosts, just like most of the martial weapons do over the simples. Spending two feats to gain access to all of them, or spending a level 1 feat and delaying your useful feat progression is already a pretty big deal for most characters, and the ones who have feats to burn could use the help. The odds you carrying multiple different exotics in your golfbag and swapping between them just aren't that high, but more importantly the benefits of doing so are really marginal. So I'd have said that it wasn't that powerful, it just broadens your options a bit.
But then some enterprising folk in these parts started writing some exotic weapon / tactical feat hybrid things that were actually interesting and potentially worth spending a feat on EWP to gain access to. And I'm genuinely not sure how I feel about gaining access to all of those at the start of the game, or for the cost of two feats. It's probably fine, but also probably not moderate given the stuff that's going into those weapons. Not sure if you want to exclude them or account for them. - Tarkisflux Talk 04:26, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
FYI, I'd exclude them. The "Tactical Exotics" assume you're using normal EWP, and this assumes you're using vanilla exotics. I haven't added it to the feat, but I am thinking of words to clarify that in the actual text. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 04:37, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
