This effect would be perfect if not for the ability to burrow through solid stone. Burrow speed usually doesn't include solid rock, and at that point it gets much closer to Passwall or Transmute Rock. Either nix the solid stone (my preference) or pull it up to 3rd level at least.

Casters

Gr7mm Bobb, please fill in which classes may cast this spell. I have added the "|casters=" line to the template. You just need to make it "|casters=Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard" listing the appropriate classes. Thank you. --Rlyehable (talk) 19:56, 6 April 2019 (MDT)

Spell Balance[edit]

Almost perfect; burrowing is much more restrictive than flight(which is 3rd level) and the bonus of tremorsense isn't quite enough to pull it the rest of the way to third (Darkvision is after all, 60ft and 8 hours without concentration). The only issue is tunneling through solid stone. The fact that you can choose to leave a tunnel through solid stone means a party of 3rd level characters can just draw their own path through dungeons. I'm a little more comfortable hiking that up to a 5th level party (3rd level), but I think the better choice is to follow the monster manual definition of burrowing and exclude solid stone, leaving "sand, earth, mud, or ice". --Vaegrim (talk) 21:11, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
