It's somewhat amusing. Also, it shouldn't really be an item at all, because it's essentially just expanding on the potential uses of a Greatsword of a larger size category.

Maybe change this into a feat.

How is it overpowered? You just burned a feat to be able to wield a better weapon, it better be damn worth it. --Leziad (talk) 05:50, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Well, yes, but without a specified balance point, the feat you're burning is implicitly about Moderate, because Exotic Weapon Proficiency is normally on the same level as Weapon Specialization. --Foxwarrior (talk) 00:14, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
Exotic weapon prof is about as unquantifiable as it get. There many awesome exotic weapon and shitty ones, throught even WotC content. --Leziad (talk) 01:08, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
Fine. --Foxwarrior (talk) 01:13, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

An interesting weapon that allows for multiple options in combat. Me gusta.

Funny and quite functional, feel like an exotic weapon.
RatedFavor.png BackHandOfFate favors this article and rated it 4 of 4!
I've always loved playing characters that wield oversized weapons. This one is very well designed and is certainly worth the Feat.

Counter Spiked Chain[edit]

The counterarguement- Spiked Chains are deliciously good not because of their full reach (useful to be sure) but because it's awesome for AoO builds. AoO builds are either Dex based or need Dex, something which goes to waste with your Max Dex +2 held here.

This is the strength based spiked chain, but it has a different purpose than the AoO happy spiked chain build. -- Eiji-kun 10:07, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

I would also add that this weapon can not be used with weapon finesse. Not yet, anyways... but soon... -- BackHandOfFate 3:11, 13 August 2012 (PST)
I've never actually seen a decent dex-based build that used the spiked chain for zone control. It's almost always been str-based with a +1 or +2 dex mod for full plate so you don't have too much MAD and can get the best damage out of power attack and make Stand Still as effective as possible. --Ghostwheel 15:47, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
One way you could maybe fix it is if you couldn't make AoOs at all with it. How about going that way? --Ghostwheel 01:03, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
No love? --Aarnott 01:17, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Ignore that. Misread what you wrote. --Aarnott 01:19, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
I'd be more in favor of a large penalty to hit for AoO's. Say, -4? Or only get 1 AoO/round and not being able to use it with certain AoO oriented feats? How does that sound? --BackHandOfFate 21:23, 13 August 2012 (PST)
Not bad, have a look. -- Eiji-kun 04:54, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Stop AoOs from being used with any class abilities or feats, and I'd definitely change my vote :-) --Ghostwheel 05:15, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Something like "The gigas sword is so awkward that it cannot be wielded to make attacks of opportunity"? --Ganteka Future 05:35, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
After debating with LD, I'm sold on denying AoO's, if just to avoid an unintended consequence with Robilar's Gambit. While I'm at it, I'm adding a sweeping attack to the sword. Besides it being flavorful, it gives fighting types a (minor) AoE where none was before. Plus, it gives something interesting to do with the weapon besides attack. -- Eiji-kun 05:42, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Hey Ghostwheel, you should update your rating. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:58, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
