1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

Appearing as simple playing cards, throwing cards are composed of a particularly stiff paper with the edges sharpened to razor thin blades. Even with its superior construction, it is still simply paper and it requires an expert hand to effectively toss these low-damage projectiles. A throwing card can’t be used as a melee weapon. They can be used as martial weapons, but if you have the appropriate proficiency you can add your Dexterity to damage.

Because they look so mundane, throwing cards are not often seen as weapons, allowing crafty assassins and scoundrels to sneak in the deadly devices. Others must succeed on a DC 20 Spot or Search check to realize something is amiss.

You can make scrolls into special throwing cards (adding the scroll cost to the cost of the card) casting and throwing it as a standard action. When doing so, any ranged touch or touch spells as part of the scroll becomes the attack roll of the card, and the range of any non-personal or fixed range spells becomes the range of the card. When used in this manner, the scroll uses your highest mental ability modifier for spell DCs, and your level as its caster level. You must have exotic proficiency to make use of the scroll function.

Although they are thrown weapons, throwing cards are treated as ammunition for the purposes of drawing them, crafting masterwork or otherwise special versions of them and what happens to them after they are thrown. The cost above is for a typical pack of 50.
