Desert Commando [Combat]
You fight better when surrounded by sand.Prerequisites: Must have spent at least a year living in the desert.
Benefits: This is a combat feat that scales with your Base Attack Bonus.
- +0: You treat shallow sand as normal sand and deep sand as shallow sand. Sand crust does not break beneath your feat, allowing you to move atop it as if it were normal terrain (See "Sand Travel" in Sandstorm 18 for details on shallow and deep sand, and sand crust). You add +10 ft. to your base speed when traveling over waste terrain.
- +1: As a standard action, you can quickly camouflage yourself in any area of ash, dust, loose earth, or sand that is at least 1 inch deep. In areas with 1 to 11 inches of appropriate loose soil, you gain a +4 bonus on Hide checks. In areas with 12 inches or more of appropriate loose soil, you instead gain a +10 bonus on Hide checks. When receiving a bonus to your Hide checks, you are able to hide in plain sight.
- +6: In any round when you first move at least 10 feet in an area covered in a layer of at least 1 inch of ash, dust, loose earth, or sand, you can supplement an attack made in that same round with flung or kicked material. A foe damaged by your attack must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Wisdom modifier) or be blinded for 1 round. Additionally, you gain the Edge against your opponent.
- +11: If you successfully trip your opponent in an area of ash, dust, loose earth, or sand that is at least 1 inch deep, that opponent cannot stand up for one round. When he can stand up, he must take a full-round action to do so. Following that round (if he wanted to stay on the ground for some reason), the target can get to his feet with a move action (as normal). The opponent is considered flat footed for the round he is on the ground, and he still provokes attacks of oppurtunity while attempting to stand, as normal.
- +16: In any round when you first move at least 10 feet in an area covered in a layer of at least 1 inch of ash, dust, loose earth, or sand, you can take a swift action to hurl a spray of sand in the eyes of all creatures in a 10-foot-radius burst. Those within the area (including allies) must make Fortitude saving the throws (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Wisdom Modifier) or they are blinded for 3 rounds. When they are blinded from your standard sand throwing, the duration of the blindness improves up to 3 rounds.
