<!-- IMPORTANT! Though many of the details of this spell have been taken verbatim from the Spell Compendium or another published source, not all of the details are exactly the same. This is a homebrew version of the "Drown" spell, designed to be Druid level 5, NOT 6. This spell may be level 6 in the Spell Compendium, but that isn't the case here unless its creator says otherwise. Please don't change it to Druid level 6 again. Thank you. -->

Water is created inside the lungs of a single living creature that needs to breathe. The creature must immediately becomes nauseated and must make a Fortitude save to cough up the water. If they fail, they retain the water and remain nauseate until the beginning of your next turn, at which point the victim passes out from a lack of oxygen and falls unconscious. On your next turn after that, the victim drowns and dies. A successful Heal check (with a DC opposing your caster level), restoration, heal, wish, or miracle spell in the intervening period saves the victim. </onlyinclude>

You create water in the lungs of the subject, causing it to begin drowning as if it had failed to continue holding its breath. The subject's hit points immediately drop to 0, and it falls unconscious. In the next round, it loses another hit point (bringing its hit points to -1) and is dying. In the following round, it dies. If the creature already has zero or fewer hit points before suffering either of these effects, it falls unconscious normally but its hit points do not change as a result of the spell.

A successful Heal check with a DC equal to 10 plus your caster level, heal, limited wish, wish, or miracle spell in the intervening period saves the victim and removes all negative effects of this spell.
