This rod of wrought iron has a large bell on it upside down, with the clapper inside clanging about. It produces strangely harmonious notes long after it should have ceased ringing.

The bell rod acts as a +1 heavy mace that does an extra 1d4 sonic damage on a successful hit with it. It also sets the bell ringing for 1d4 rounds, and when ringing it can produce several effects, each a standard action.

Countersound: Make a Perform (percussion) check. You can duplicate the effect of a bard's countersong for up to as long as the bell remains ringing.

Deafening Clang: As a standard action you can make a single melee attack while it is ringing. You deal damage as normal, and the creature must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 HD + your modifier used for attacking) or become deafened for 1 minute. Save negates the deafening but not the damage.

Shattering Note: It can replicate the effect of shatter. This ends the bell's ringing immediately, but otherwise may be done at will.

In addition, spellcasters gain a +1 CL on any [Sonic] spells while wielding this rod.

Prerequisites: Craft Rod, create sound.
Cost to Create: 3,000 gp, 240 EXP, 6 days.
