Reactor, Basic

Generates excess power for systems beyond simple auxiliary power. Required for certain modules (such as FTL Engines).

Crew: No

Powered: No

Megahp: 10

Properties: None

Cost: 1000 gp

While it is assumed most modules can run on auxiliary power systems for simple devices, computers, and lights, some modules require a massive amount of power. For this ships have a reactor, which grant an amount of power charge to one or more modules. A creature in the reactor (or remote control, such as from the pilot) can use a standard action to redirect power between various modules.

The basic reactor can generate up to 4 points of power charge. A destroyed reactor is potentially dangerous for its vessel, as that energy will go somewhere, and rarely does it go anywhere safe. Some vessels are prepared to eject their reactor specifically to avoid this situation.
