A leaf hangs in the air before you, neither falling nor rising in defiance of gravity. Take care not to touch it, lest you be frozen in time as well.
Supposedly, it is possible to manifest quintessence and absorb the substance in water. The slow-flowing mixture subsequently can be used to grow plants and, rarely, one ends up with a "time tree" and its resulting time leaves. The leaves and tree itself seem to slowly flow through time and sometimes, not flow at all. There have been stories of leaves falling off for the winter, only to slow and stop to hang in mid air for an undetermined amount of time before it choses to complete its journey to the ground. While a fascinating oddity, the leaves have a use as a strange form of supernatural trap.
Treat time leaves as possessing a contact poison with a Will DC of 17. On a failed save, the subject it frozen in time and immobile as if by hold monster, except the victim is unable to be harmed, injured, or affected in any way while the condition persists. They will be held frozen in time for 10 rounds. Each round on its turn, the subject may attempt a new saving throw to end the effect. (This is a full-round action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity.) This is not actually poison, nor is it mind-affecting, and immunity to either does not prevent immunity to a time leaf.
Time leaves can be applied to weapons, typically with a bit of adhesive to stick it to the applicable weapon. You risk the usual chance of "poisoning" yourself as if it were poison. After one hit, a time leaf is expended and becomes a normal leaf.
