This simple looking walking stick is scorched dark brown, with signs of wear and age. Its simple appearance hides its historical significance, when this weapon was once the tool of powerful pyromancers in the past who waged a long war against dragonkind.
This rod is technically a firebound wood military heavy mace set up as a mundane walking stick. Spellcasters who know a [Fire] spell may use this weapon as a simple weapon. The rod can store [Fire] spells as spells known up to one slot per level, so it could store fireball in its 3rd level slot, and meteor swarm in its 9th level slot. The rod uses your ability modifier and caster level or its own, whichever is greater, and counts as a stave in that regard. The rod has 50 charges consuming 1 charge per spell level, and recovers 5 charges each day or 10 charges if also immersed in a fire for 8 hours. Stored 0th level spells may be cast at will.
You can extend the casting of any standard action [Fire] spell out to 1 round. If you do, the spell is cast as if Molten Spell metamagic were applied.
These staves were made in a bygone age and the methods of their creation lost, but the price represents the trade value regardless.
Prerequisites: Cannot be crafted.
Cost to Create: 10,512 gp, 600 EXP, 18 days.
