Molten Spell [Metamagic] Your fire is hot enough to melt the ground itself.Benefit: You can alter any instantaneous area of effect fire spell. A molten spell leaves molten residue behind which stays for 1 round, creating difficult terrain along the ground and dealing 1/2 the damage of the original spell for creatures which remain or pass through squares affected by it. Creatures which remain in the area must make a DC 15 Reflex save to avoid catching on fire (there is no save against the 1/2 damage). A molten spell has a variable increase in level; for each +1 increase in effective spell level the molten lava lasts for 1 additional round. Example: A wizard casts a fireball with a +2 adjustment from molten spell, dealing 32 fire damage. For 2 rounds, a pool of lava remains in the 20 ft. burst which deals 16 fire damage, catches creatures on fire, and acts as difficult terrain.
