Reactive Aegis [1] is an eldritch invocation in 5th edition.
Prerequisite: 5th level, Pact of the Aegis

As a reaction when you or another creature within 60ft of you that you can see would take damage, you may expend a Warlock spell slot. In doing so, you create a barrier around the triggering creature with 1d8 hit points, plus an additional 1d8 hit points per level of the spell slot expended, as your Pact Shield leaps to protect the creature. This barrier persists until the beginning of your next turn.

While this barrier persists, it takes damage for the triggering creature, including the triggering damage. If damage would reduce the barrier to 0 hit points, the triggering creature suffers any remaining damage.

Additionally, if it was not already summoned, your Pact Shield is called forth as part of this reaction, and grants its AC bonus to the triggering creature while the barrier persists.
