Indestructible Koal

This black rock burns well. It has been cleaned, scrubbed with a toothbrush.

This burning rock is something called koal, which has been cleaned and scrubbed with a toothbrush. Not only does it burn nice, absolutely the best, and we all love it as much as we love where its mined and the people who mine it, but it has a secret. And you know, it's indestructible stuff. In times of war, in times of conflict, you can blow up those windmills, they fall down real quick. You can blow up those pipelines, they go like this... splat... and you're not gonna fix 'em too fast. You can do a lot of things to those solar panels but, you know what you can't hurt?

Koal.

You can do whatever you want to koal.

Very important.

And we're working now on a military plan that's gonna to be something special.

Since koal is indestructible it can be used in weapons and armor. It makes weapons invincible to damage, and deal maximum, the best, damage against people hostile to you like the lying town criers. Armor, absolutely the best armor and invincible, can't be beat. Can't be pierced. They have to use cheats like magic to get past your defense, it just doesn't work. You wear indestructible koal and you're gonna have it the best.

...

Thus ends the study on this anomalous item, with the above being the results on West Vallengrad's population which had been affected at time of writing. This item known as "Koal" is a black rock which is flammable and in all respects resembles traditional coal. However when burned the smoke emissions released by this specimen of coal produce a strong hallucinogenic effect in all those exposed to the smoke, typically up to 100 ft away from the source of burning for an object the size of a campfire. All those within the area of effect must make a DC 10 Fortitude save or become compelled to believe that the koal is far more important and supernatural than it actually is. Subjects will proceed to make up or believe any story concerning the nature of the koal such as believing it to be "clean", "indestructible", "are part of a secret plan by your favorite deity", or "orange hobgoblins are trustworthy because they promise more koal". The subject also takes a -2 penalty to further compulsion effects.

This effect persists once the area is left, but can be countered through attempts to convince them otherwise (typically 1 minute, which triggered another saving throw against the effect) or removing them from the koal and any mentions of the existence of koal for at least 24 hours. Unfortunately for many when koal affected spring up they typically attempt to expose uncompelled creatures into the area of influence to grow their numbers typically under the direction of cult worship of the cursed object.
