The ground shifts and turns, drawing up dreadful spines and barbs from below. You create a 20 ft by 20 ft square of land which is difficult terrain. Creatures moving over this land also take 1 point of magic piercing damage for every 5 ft square they pass through. You can only have one instance of this utterance at a time, with new instances replacing the old (but see augmentation).
Reverse: You smooth out a rough spot of land and make it flat and smooth. You remove difficult terrain in a 20 ft by 20 ft square of land, suppressing any magically generated difficult terrain while it is in the area.
Failure: On a failed truespeak check, only a 5 ft square is effected, and only for 1 minute.
Augmentation: For every +10 you increase the base DC by, you can have another instance without replacing the previous one. The effect is cumulative (DC 15 for the first, 25 for the second, 35 for the third, etc).
Primal Utterance
Normal: The duration becomes permanent, and the ground deals 10 points of damage for creatures moving through it. However, it also provides cover from the gnarls and spines that jut out everywhere. It does not count to the number of instances active at once.
Reversed: The duration becomes permanent, and the ground is so smooth it facilitates movement. Creatures moving over this area can do so as double their normal movement speed (1 square being 10 ft). The ground is smooth and glossy. It does not count to the number of instances active at once.
