Abominable Sinews are a matched pair of Handwraps, made from sinews that suspiciously resemble intestines, embroidered with black and red runes in a forgotten language. When
Any creature can attune to a pair of Abominable Sinews and gain the benefits of their magical bonus to attack and damage rolls made with unarmed strikes. However, their true power is awakened if a creature with the Hemocraft feature attunes to the Tapestries. While worn by the attuned user, the pair of Sinews gains the following properties:
- Hemocraft Focus: The pair of Abominable Sinews grants a bonus to Hemocraft attack rolls and Hemocraft save DCs equal to their bonus to unarmed attack and damage rolls.
- Expose Weakness: Whenever a Torment is active on the pair of Abominable Sinews, you gain advantage on attack rolls made against a creature that is Vulnerable to the type of damage dealt by that Torment.
- Crimson Hand: The Sinews allow you to channel your Hemocraft directly through them by touch, rather than releasing it in the traditional way. When you use a Rite that requires a ranged Hemocraft attack against a target within your unarmed melee reach, you may choose to make it as a melee Hemocraft attack instead. This allows you to use ranged Rites, such as Sanguine Spear or Blood Lance, against a target within your unarmed melee reach without suffering disadvantage.
- Sanguine Fist: When you make a successful melee Hemocraft attack with a Rite, you can choose to deal additional damage to the target of that Rite. This damage is equal to one roll of your unarmed damage die, and is of the same type of damage dealt by your unarmed strike; You do not add your Strength modifier to this additional damage, nor any other effect that would ordinarily be added to your unarmed strike. This is not actually an unarmed attack, nor is it a melee weapon attack - It does not trigger effects that require you to land a melee weapon or unarmed attack in order to trigger, such as Stunning Strike or Divine Smite.
- You may only trigger this property once per Rite per turn, even if the Rite - Such as Sanguine Claws - Allows you to make more than one attack with each use. If you have the Extra Attack feature, and have not taken the Attack action since the beginning of your turn, you may add your unarmed damage a number of times per Rite per turn equal to the number of attacks you could ordinarily make when you take the Attack action.
