Alliance Gong[edit]
Alliance gongs are usually set up in cities, and rarely on large vehicles. When struck by a character with inspire courage, they may make a DC 20 Perform check. If successful they spread their inspire courage out to the a radius of 500 ft beyond the borders of the archetecture in question (for mobile vehicles) or up to 1 mile (for immobile architectures, such as a castle in a city). It is useful to have a powerful bard in the gong chamber playing in order to turn the entire city into fierce warriors.
When the gong is first played any allies currently under a fear effect have the fear removed as per remove fear. They can fall under a fear effect again after its initial activation.
The item is traditionally a gong, but some versions have alliance horn, alliance drums, or even an alliance harp. Creatures must be able to see or hear the gong for the gong to function.
Moderate transmutation; CL 10th; Craft Wondrous Item, remove fear, must be a 10th level bard with inspire courage; Price 20,000 gp.
