Automail is a series of prosthetics used to replace missing non-vital limbs. They can come in any shape or function as appropriate for the limb it replaces, providing near-perfect duplication of the previous limb in question. Automail is typically made out of living metalMoF, though it can also be crafted from living woodSBG that's been treated with the ironwood spell. Such limbs often take on the form of full plating, and are partly hollow inside.
The graft is not perfect, with nerfed sense of touch and feeling. Ability and skill checks which use the replaced limb have a -2 penalty (which does not stack with other automail grafts). On the other hand, the creature with the grafts may now install warforged components that are associated with the replaced limb, such as gaining an armbladeECS on a replaced arm.
The automail may be safely removed or reconnected to a creature with a missing limb with a DC 15 Heal check as a standard action. Failing this check or having it removed improperly deals 2d10 points of nonlethal damage from the sudden shock of pain.
