Little more than a glowing red hot bar of semi-solid magma, it strikes with heavy blows before igniting blue-white hot.
The blazing column is a masterwork bastard sword that is naught more than a chunk of the elemental Plane of Fire. It deals purely fire damage instead of slashing damage, but users holding the weapon take 1d6 fire damage a round. If you have made two successful attack rolls (or one critical hit) in the last 3 rounds, you can choose to supercharge the weapon with a swift action. Its blade burns bright blue and deals twice as much base damage (and additional +1d10 plus any numerical damage inherent to the weapon such as enhancement bonus) and 10 points of damage ignores any hardness or fire resistance or immunity. It also increases the damage to the user to 2d6, and deals 1 point of fire damage to anyone ending their turn within the users reach. The heat aura is capable of igniting flammable objects. The blue flame effect lasts until you fail to make at least one successful attack in the round.
The weapon can be enhanced, but cannot host any enhancements that deal cold damage. It works well with other fire damage enhancement, gaining a 10% discount on the enhancement costs. If combined with Igniting, activating Igniting can be the same action as activating the blade's blue form.
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, scorching ray, must be crafted on the Plane of Fire.
Cost to Create: 4500 gp, 360 EXP, 9 days.
