Blood Melt
Transmutation [Acid, Evil]
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 8
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature with blood
Duration: Instantaneous; see text
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial
Spell Resistance: Yes

The illithid warlock suddenly let out a howl in agony, as its skin seemed to boil from the inside out until it disintegrated into a pool of foul smelling ichor.

This spell dramatically increases the acidic content of the target creature's blood, causing them to melt from the inside out. On a failed Fortitude save, they take 1d6 acid damage per caster level, 1d8 Constitution damage, and are permanently sickened. Each subsequent round, they take 1 acid damage per caster level; this continues each round until they perish or they revert their condition. When the creature dies, they violently melt down into a pool of acid as large as the creature's square which deals 10d6 acid damage to any creature which passes through these squares. The acid pool can stay potent for up to 24 hours after creation. In fluid mediums like water, the acid pool is a cube which disperses in 1 minute. A successful Fortitude save instead deals half damage, no Constitution damage, and they are sickened for 1 round.

Because the spell transmutes the nature of the blood, it sticks around forever. It can be reverted with limited wish, wish, miracle, or using flesh to stone and then reverting the petrification by any means which reverts acid levels in the blood to normal. A casting of blood to water also reverts this spell. A heal check, DC 10 + caster level made as a full round action can negate the acid damage for 1 hour, but cannot cure the effect.

Acid resistance can help against damage, but not the ability damage or sickening. Acid immunity grants immunity to this spell.
