Charmweaver

A charmweaver is a sorcerer with a unique mastery over mind-altering spells. Despite their name, and focus on charm effects, they are also capable wielders of all enchantment. A charmweaver is especially good at concealing the effect of her spells, allowing her to remain undetected.

Class: Sorcerer

Level: 1st-17th

Replaces: Bloodline Spells, Bloodline Power (1st, 15th), Bonus Feat (7th)

Benefit: A charmweaver gain the following class features:

Bonus Spells: A charmweaver possesses different spells than a sorcerer of her bloodline. At the noted level, the charmweaver gains the listed spell instead of the normal spell grant by her bloodline: charm person (3rd), enthrall (5th), charm monster (9th), mass charm monster (17th).

This ability alters the sorcerer's bloodline spells.

Enchanting Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell of the enchantment school, increase the spell’s DC by +2. At a charmweaver may choose to deliver a spell of the charm or compulsion spells, as a consensual kiss or touch. Doing so reduces the spell range to touch, but removes any verbal component needed for the spell.

This ability replaces the sorcerer's bloodline arcana.

Enchanting Glare (Su): As an immediate action, a charmweaver can attempt to thwart a melee or ranged attack that targets her. This ability functions as sanctuary, but only against one individual attack. She must use the ability after the attack is declared but before the roll is made. The creature attacking her receives a Will save to negate this effect. If a creature has more than one attack, this ability only affects one of the attacks. The charmweaver can use the ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a mind-affecting effect.

This ability replaces the sorcerer's 1st bloodline power.

Beguiler (Ex): At 7th level, a charmweaver gains a +3 bonus on Bluff, Diplomacy and Sense Motive skill checks, as well as on Charisma check made to convince a charmed creature to obey an order. Furthermore, she treats any compulsion effect she inflict as charm effect for the purpose of being detected by sense motive (with the exception of dominate person and dominate monster).

This ability replaces the sorcerer's 7th level bonus feat.

Perfect Charm (Su): At 15th level, once per day, the charmweaver is capable of putting a deeply powerful charm on a target she touches. The target is allowed a Will save (DC 12 + 1/2 of the sorcerer's level + her Charisma modifier), a success leave the target staggered for 1 round. If the target fails their Will save they fall under the effect behaving as the charm monster spell, except for the following:

  • The effect is difficult to remove, requiring a remove curse or break enchantment spell with a DC of 15 + the sorcerer's level to remove.
  • The effect of this charm does not automatically break the charmweaver's allies threaten the target. The target is allowed a new Will save to end the effect if the charmweaver harms the target or refuses to defend them from your allies.
  • The target becomes unable to willingly lie to the charmweaver.
  • The target develops a strong bond toward the charmweavers, such as strong loyalty or romantic attraction. The loyalty and love manifested by this charm lingers even if it is removed, the target remains helpful toward the charmweaver even after the spell is removed. Although the target is now able to change their mind, especially if the deception is pointed out to them.

The charmweaver may only have a number of creatures under the effect of perfect charm equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 1), this limit is not affected by temporary increase or decrease of her Charisma score. If she places more targets under its effect than her limit, she may allow one of her previous perfect charms of her choice to decay and end. This is a mind-affecting effect.

This ability replaces the sorcerer's 15th level bloodline power.
