Eldritch Bard
A bard whose arcane talents run to invocations rather than spellcasting.
Class: Bard
Level: 1-20
Replaces: Spellcasting, Base Attack Bonus, Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Benefit: Invocation Bloodline, eldritch blast/abyssal blast/breath weapon
Invocation Bloodline: An eldritch bard, like the sorcerer, usually has some kind of magic in their bloodline, be it from a fiendish, draconic, or other origins. They cannot cast spells as other bards do, but instead gain access to invocations. At 1st level, an Eldritch Bard chooses whether to receive invocations as a warlock (or very high warlock), dragonfire adeptDM, or abyssal warlock. Whichever they choose, they gain the invocations known as the class of their choice, drawing their invocations from the same list as their chosen class. This choice is permanent once made, it cannot be changed later. Their invoker level is equal to their levels in eldritch bard, as well as any other levels gained in an invocation-granting class.
Eldritch blast/abyssal blast/breath weapon: At 2nd level, an eldritch bard gains either the eldritch blast of a warlock, the abyssal blast of an abyssal warlock, or the breath weapon of a dragonfire adept, depending on their chosen bloodline. However, their power is not quite as potent as a full invoker. The progression of a warlock or abyssal warlock's blast is halved, and the breath weapon of a dragonfire adept increases by 1d6 every 3 levels.
Base Attack Bonus: The Eldritch Bard receives the Base Attack Bonus progression of their chosen invocation class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Eldritch Bards are proficient with all simple weapons and one martial weapon of their choice. They are proficient with light armor (though this may interfere with their invocations if their chosen type of invocations incur arcane spell failure chance from armor), but not with shields.
