Features

Fey Adapted. The troll has advantage on saving throws against illusion and enchantment magic.

Keen Smell. The troll has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Regeneration. The troll regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the troll takes damage from a cold Iron weapon, the trait doesn't function at the start of the troll's next turn. The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Actions

Multiattack. The troll makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6+4) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6+4) slashing damage.

Glamour (Recharges on a 6). The troll can cast a fey glamour to appear to be a Large Giant or Fey; or a Medium Humanoid or Fey. This is an illusion, the troll does not actually change. The glamour can include clothes and other equipment if it desires, but again, this is illusion and does not function. Creatures that have cause to disbelieve the glamour may take an action to make a DC 15 Investigation or Perception check, seeing through the glamour for 1 minute on a success.

Fey trolls are native to the Feywild. Whether they originated in the Feywild or migrated there millennia ago is unknown. But they are now more fey than giant.

Compared to the Material Plane trolls, they are slightly shorter (only about 8½ feet tall and average 450 lbs.). Fey trolls are also green in color, but is a more natural green that blends well with the vegetation of the Feywild. They are much more intelligent and are not as vulnerable to acid and fire, but do have a distinct allergy to cold Iron. They have also lost access to the Loathsome Limbs trait of most trolls (see Monster Manual (5e) p.291). They have lived with the fey illusion and enchantment for so long that they have developed senses that often allow them to detect illusion and resist enchantment; they have even picked up some access to fey glamour as well.

Fey trolls are loners and do not work with other fey unless they were tricked into a bargain with a greater fey. But they are known to make trades for equipment that would be useful to them (weapons, cooking equipment, etc.). Fairy tales tell of them constructing bridges and then charging a toll to cross them.
