Heating[edit]

The blade is cool to the touch, but upon striking the target it flashes white-hot.

This enhancement causes the target to heat up with every strike, inflicting damage over time. Creatures and objects struck by the weapon are heated up based on how many attacks have struck them, going one step up in severity each time. They take the damage associated at the beginning of their turn (or at the end of the round for objects).

1st Strike: Readily flammable material (paper, dry grass, tinder, torches) ignites. Skin reddens (1 point of fire damage).

2nd Strike: Wood smolders and smokes, metal becomes hot to the touch, skin blisters (1d4 points of fire damage), hair smolders, paint shrivels, water boils.

3rd Strike and Subsequent Strikes: Wood ignites, metal scorches (1d6 points of fire damage for those holding metallic objects). Skin burns and hair ignites (1d6 fire points of damage), lead melts. Creatures holding metal objects take both 1d6 from their skin, and 1d6 from the metal.

Each round that passes without a successful attack, the severity of the heating drops one step until it ends.

Faint Psychokinesis; ML 5th; Craft Psionic Arms and Armor, matter agitation; Price: +1.
