It burns, it burns!

A pitiful creature, barely keeping itself together. Every time it seems to form its body, it melts away in its own fetid juices.

Fiends which perished in the Para-Elemental Plane of Ooze were reborn as avatars of filth and toxic goo. Hepyloris (also known as ulcer fiends) are weak creatures, tormented by their own existence as their own acid devours them yet does not permit them to die. They lash out in rage to anyone lucky not to be drowning in their own acid. However they are dull witted, minds blanked out with agony.

Combat[edit]

They do best in ambushes, disguised among muddy environments. They stop movement with their slime blot, and focus on those who manage to avoid being trapped in the goo with simple acid powered slams. Their pseudopod limbs can stretch, giving it longer reach than most tiny creatures for its slam attack.

Acrid Slime (Ex): The hepylori deals an additional +1d8 acid damage on its slam attacks. A creature that strikes a hepylori with an unarmed strike, a touch attack (including a touch spell), or a natural weapon takes 1d8 points of acid damage. Any creature in a grapple with the target of hepylori takes 1d8 points of acid damage at the beginning of its turn.

Immunities (Ex): The hepylori is immune to critical hits and sneak attacks, flanking, and acid damage. It is also immune to disease, poison, sleep effects, paralysis, and stunning.

Situational Fast Healing (Ex): So long as the hepylori is in an non-arid environment, it benefits from fast healing 2. It counts as a watery creature for interacting with spells and other effects.

Slime Blot (Ex): Hepylori can launch a bolt of acid goo at a target as a ranged touch attack within 60 ft. It acts as a tanglefoot bag (Reflex DC 15), with the added downside of dealing 1 point of acid damage at the beginning of any entangled creature's turn, up to a maximum of 10 damage. Unlike the item, it has a duration of 1 minute or until broken out of. The hepylori can use this ability once per minute, and the save DC is Constitution based, with a +2 bonus from Ability Focus.

*Hepylori have a +8 racial bonus to Swim checks, and a +8 bonus on Disguise checks while in muddy environments.
