This humanoid creature superficially seems like a woman in a dress from afar with a strange headpiece, but as you draw closer you realize the clothing is part of the living creature, its non-existent eyes covered by a bony tiara, its teeth and claws sharp, and its movements impossible. It opens its mouth, and the sound which comes forth can only be described as pain.
A twisted fey which resembles a humanoid woman, the howling warbler delights in singing and dancing. Alas, it is the most horrifying singer of all time, with a voice which can strip paint, ignite water, and age babies into shriveled old men. It is an unspeakable nightmare voice which cannot be properly defined by the laws of the universe. And unfortunately, the egotistical fey seem completely unaware of the suffering they bring, for not only do they love to sing, they love to sing to a captive audience.
Howling warblers speak Sylven, but usually sing instead. They weight 110 lbs.
The howling warbler is rarely seriously fighting, "dancing" past blades and spells and singing terrible tunes to their opponents. If in any serious danger they use their spells, and typically run away. After all they can always come back when the opponents are more receptive to her song, as it sings nightmares from its hiding place.
Aura of Noise (Su): When a howling warbler is singing, everyone hears it. Its voice works even in a vacuum or a silence spell, through any DCs from its voice are reduced by -4, and the volume of its voice is cut in half. If it is singing its blindsense and blindsight works (but only when singing), but reduced to 20 ft blindsense and 10 ft blindsight. Any creature within 10 ft of the howling warbler must make a DC 16 Fortitude save or go deaf for 10 minutes. Being deaf, much like a silence field, won't save you from hearing it. If anything, it makes it the only thing you can hear. This saving throw is Wisdom based.
It is rumored that extended exposure to the aura of noise invokes terrible mutations, changes, and corruption in creatures, but so far none has lived long enough to find out as most choose suicide over one more second of the noise.
Bardic Antimusic: The howling warbler has the bardic music ability of a bard of its HD, except all bonuses are instead penalties. This includes the countersong, fascinate, inspire courage (as penalties), inspire competence (as penalties), and suggestion abilities. There are no save on the penalties, but things which normally have saves (such as suggestion) still possess them. Penalties overlap, they do not stack. It uses its Wisdom for the purpose of saving throws.
Bardic Knowledge: The howling warbler has bardic knowledge of its HD.
Blind: The howling warbler does not actually have eyes and works entirely off of its blindsense and blindsight. Being blind renders it immune to gaze attack and other visual effects.
Dancing Stance (Ex): The howling warbler can adopt the dancing stance as a swift action, gaining a +5 luck bonus on its AC and allowing it to take an extra move action every round, or alternatively concentrate on its bardic music with its bonus move action. It is always in this stance, and is treated as a martial maneuver stance of 3rd level for the purpose of interacting with feats and abilities.
Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): At will- lullaby (DC 13), shatter (DC 15), summon instrument, ventriloquism (DC 14); 3/day-blur, daze monster (DC 15); 1/day-hideous laughter (DC 15), hold person (DC 15), hypnotism (DC 14), magic mouth (DC 15), shout (DC 17), song of discord (DC 18), sympathetic vibration. The saving throws are Wisdom based.
Skills: The howling warbler has a -40 racial penalty to Perform Singing checks and a +8 bonus on Tumble checks.
