The metallic skeleton soldiers marched silently on, obliterating everything in their ceaseless path.

The Ivans are not combat droids by design, but were rather the result of major retrofitting of a Schaft-6006 model into a simple but effective robotic soldier. They have little going for them when not under direct command, but these soldiers need no food, shelter, or comfort.

They resemble a metallic humanoid skeleton covered in armor plating, with its head little more than a camera. Its actual brain, and some secondary sensors, are equipped within its torso. Due to the augments, they still stand at 5'8" but weigh an increased 300 lbs. It can communicate, but requires a direct link to the plug in the base of their necks in order to hack or re-program them.

Combat[edit]

Direct and to the point, if not directly issued commands they will preserve the last one given to them. Typically this is guard duty, or patrolling an area, which they perform with dutiful regularity. The combat droids are proficient in all simple and martial weapons, all armors (light, medium, and heavy) and all shields (including tower shields).

Advanced Mind (Ex): The general purpose robot gains +6 additional programs in addition to the normal amount.

Arm Hardpoint (Ex): The combat droid can hold, wield, and reload any projectile weapon (even two-handed weapons) on one arm. It is attached to the length of the arm and cannot be disarmed. The weight of the weapon does give a -2 penalty on any attacks, ability checks, or skill checks done involving that hand on the arm the weapon is attached to. Attaching or removing a weapon from the hardpoint is a standard action which provokes attacks of opportunity.

Failsafe (Ex): As a precaution against hacking and unusual enchantment effects which may yet afflict the combat droid, a physical failsafe was installed in the base of the spine. Unless removed with a DC 20 Disable Device check which takes 1d4 rounds, any time the combat droid would fall under hostile control, charm, or compulsion it is dazed until rebooted. While dazed it cannot act but will continue to defend itself. It must be unaware or rendered helpless in order to remove the failsafe.

Lock On (Ex): At will as an extraordinary ability, the Combat Droid may use true strike.

Programming: The general purpose robot possesses the following programs: Attack, Calculate, Collect, Communication x2, Identify Creature, Identify Object, Protect, Reposition, Search, Self-Preservation, Sort.

Construction[edit]

Ivan-T70 Combat Droids are build out of a composite of many different metals, plastics, and alloys which must be processed in a factory. In addition its computer core requires special components and programming. The cost of the base material components are worth 800 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 19 Craft (technology) check, a DC 19 Knowledge Engineering, or a DC 19 Knowledge Xeno check.

CL 7th; Craft Construct, lesser geas, true strike, unseen servant; Price 8,000 gp; Cost 3,600 gp + 288 XP.
