Kinetic Wilder

A kinetic wilder relies on surges of emotions and mental energy to control her kinetic energy. They lack fine control over the elements, but make up for it by unleashing their unfettered power. However doing so often has dire consequences for the kinetic wilder, leaving her utterly vulnerable in moments she loses herself and becomes consumed by her own power.

Class: Kineticist

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Gather power, elemental defense, supercharge, omnikinesis

Benefit: A kinetic wilder gain the following class features:

Mental Energy (Ex): A kinetic wilder uses her Charisma modifier instead of her Constitution modifier to determine her damage with wild talents, the DCs of Constitution-based wild talents, the duration of wild talents with a Constitution-based duration, her bonus on concentration checks for wild talents, and the other Constitution-based effects of all her wild talents.

This ability alters the kineticist’s key ability score of wild talents.

Kinetic Surge (Ex): A kinetic wilder can invoke a surge of mental and elemental energy as a free action once per round. Using kinetic surge creates an extremely loud, visible display in a 20-foot radius centered on the kineticist, as the energy or matter swirls around her. Upon using kinetic surge, the kinetic wilder has a 15% chance to enervate, causing her to become dazed for 1 round and immediately suffer a point of burn. A kinetic wilder may spend a move action to steady herself mentally, reducing the enervation chance by 10% of any kinetic surge she attempts until the start of her next turn.

If she does not enervate she reduces the burn cost of her next kinetic blast by 1. At 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter, the kinetic wilder reduces the burn cost of her next kineticist blast by 1 but increases the chance to enervate by an additional 5% for every point of burn reduced beyond the first. The kinetic wilder may decide to reduce the amount of burn by less than the full amount to reduce the chance to enervate.

This ability replaces gather power.

Inward Surge (Su): A kinetic wilder cannot invest burn in her elemental defense, instead she can use her kinetic surge to empower her elemental defense. As a standard action, she may use her kinetic surge inward, counting as having accepted an amount of burn equal to what her wild surge would reduce in her elemental defense. This use of kinetic surge has normal enervation chances, but functions even if the kinetic wilder evernates. The effect of the heighted defense lasts for 1 round per class level. If the kinetic wilder has many elemental defenses, she may divide the amount burn accepted of as she see fit between them.

Additionally, whenever the kinetic wilder successfully uses kinetic surge she counts as having accepted burn on a wild talent of any elements she has for the purpose of her elemental defense.

This ability alters elemental defense.

Wild Euphoria (Ex): A kinetic wilder gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls made with her kineticist blade and double that bonus on damage made with kineticist blast on every turn she successfully used her kinetic surge ability.

This bonus increases by 1 at 6th level and every 3 levels thereafter.

This ability replaces elemental overflow.

Elemental Rage (Su): A kinetic wilder of 11th level can enter a state of heightened psychic ability and increased aggression as a free action. In this state she gains a +4 bonus on her Charisma modifier, reduce her kineticist surge’s enervation chance by 10%, takes a -2 penalty to AC and is limited in what kind of action she can take as if she was raging, although she is able to use any wild talents normally. She can maintain her psychic berserk for a number of rounds equal to half her class level + her Charisma modifier per day, which does not need to be consecutive.

After she stop her psychic berserk, the kinetic wilder become fatigued for 2 rounds per round of psychic berserk uses. This fatigue cannot be ended early by any effect, and carries an additional 10% chance to enervate when she uses kinetic surge.

At 20th level the kinetic wilder is no longer fatigued after using psychic berserk.

This ability replaces supercharge and omnikinesis.
