"Aren't you tired? You should go to sleep."

"Helpful" fey spirits accustomed to urban living which take the form of stray black cats, they are friendly but haughty beings who take interest in mortals for the strangest thing, and quickly end up following them around as a helpful talking cat, regardless if their "friend" wants help or not. They seem honestly earnest in their efforts to help, but many view monacats to be a living trap, for monacats are concerned about the health of their friends, and they always encourage that their allies get a good night's sleep and are always refreshed.

No matter what.

An enforcer of the 15 minute workday, monacats are insistent that their friends are well rested and will use any excuse to demand a rest. And they are not beyond employing magic to help guide people along to proper sleeping habits. One begins to wonder if monacats do this simply to have laps to sleep upon while their friends rest, but the monacats simply won't tell.

Combat[edit]

Monacats don't usually actively engage in combat, but they are always by their allies side aiding them however they can. They benefit from allies as they are weak when solo, and they are always there to make sure their allies get a good night sleep afterwards, eh he he he!

Cat Anchor (Su): If a monacat gets on a creatures lap, they cannot be removed as if they were a figurine of limestone lapcat. They often employ this to make sure their friends get a full 8 hours no matter what, but it can be useful for pinning down a helpless enemy as well. Unlike the item people other than the victim can remove it with a Strength check DC 20 or with remove curse or freedom of movement.

Nimble Paws (Ex): In spite of lacking hands, monacats are absurdly dexterous. They have a +8 racial bonus on Disable Device and Open Lock, and are always treated as having a lockpick on hand. They can manipulate, but not wield, objects just as well as if they had proper hands.

Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): At will-gust of wind, 3/day-cure light wounds; 1/day-ray of exhaustion. The saving throws are Charisma based.

Time to Sleep (Sp): As a standard action at will, a monacat can insist a creature not currently in a stressful situation stop and rest. This acts as a single-target sleep spell with no HD limit, DC 19. A successful saving throw renders the creature immune for 24 hours, though it can be attempted an unlimited amount of times if the creature suffers from fatigue or exhaustion. The saving throw is Charisma based.

Skills: Monacats have a +8 racial bonus on Disable Device and Open Lock checks, and a +4 racial bonus on Climb, Hide, and Move Silently checks and a +8 racial bonus on Jump checks. Monacats have a +8 racial bonus on Balance checks. They use their Dexterity modifier instead of their Strength modifier for Climb and Jump checks. *In areas of tall grass or heavy undergrowth, the Hide bonus rises to +8.
