Monsterhide[edit]

The tanned leather or even rawhide of slain fantastical creatures, reinforced by tough fur, sharp hard scales or even bony protrusions. Monsterhide is a tough material, which can only be applied to any armor made of fabric or hide. It is created from the skin of Dragon, Magical Beast or Outsider with tough skin.

An armor made of monsterhide is tougher and heavier than one made from regular animals, and thus has it armor bonus increase by 1, but it Max Dexterity decrease by 1. Additionally, monsterhide grant a +4 bonus on saving throws against the supernatural and spell-like ability of the creature that was fashioned into the monsterhide.

Alternatively it may be fashioned into a cape or cloak, granting a +2 circumstance bonus on intimidate checks and a +1 Armor bonus to AC. If the creature was wooly or furry it also grant the benefit of a Cold Weather Outfit.

Craft Rebuilt: Monsterhide is crafted using Craft (Tanning & Textile), using the skin of a Dragon, Magical Beast or Outsider with a natural armor of +4 or higher. It is considered a fine item. In addition to the normal cost of monsterhide, add 50 x the creature's CR squared to its cost if made from a particular creature.

Monsterhide has 20 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 9.
