Naturally Deaf

You were born deaf, or perhaps permanently deafened early in your life and maybe mute as well. This led you to be able to ignore most, but not all, of its drawbacks and pick up some useful linguistic skills.

Benefit: You automatically know how to read lips, additionally you automatically learn the sign language of any language you know (if any).

Drawback: You are permanently deafened, you do not take the penalty to initiative or the 20% chance of spell failure on spells with verbal components due to be accustomed.

Special: You cannot be cured of your natural deafness by any effect beside a wish spell.

Roleplaying Ideas: You might be wary and prudent, knowing being deaf in the world of adventuring makes a risky business even riskier.
