Nihilistic Champion

Most antipaladin are dedicated to the ideals of evil, such as imposing tyranny, slaughtering the innocent and crushing the weak. The nihilistic champion however does not fight for any ideals, seeing them as meaningless, much like all of existence. They mock the concept of good and evil, drawing their power from the dark being, whobenefits or even encourage such views. They are able to act much more freely than most antipaladin, some being fuelled by pure selfishness and id, seeking only short-term benefits and pleasures. Other nihilistic champions are more philosophical, and enjoy convincing others to see their way, especially would-be heroes. Rarely, a nihilistic champion will turn against the forces of evil, as a grand mockery of purposes, or perhaps to show those who would control them that they also ultimately don’t matter.

Class: Antipaladin

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Code of Conduct, Smite Good, Aura of Cowardice, Touch of Corruption, Cruelties, Spells, Aura of Vengeance, Aura of Depravity, Unholy Champion

Benefit: A nihilistic champion gain the following class features:

Code of Conduct: A nihilistic champion inherently has no strong beliefs, instead drawing power from their view of the meaninglessness of life. They are able to perform any act they wish and associate with anyone they fancy, without falling. Of course being chaotic evil they rarely perform altruistic deeds or are tolerated for long by good-aligned associates. However a nihilistic champion falls if she abandons her views of the meaninglessness of existence, if she changes alignment or if she violate her deity’s code of conduct, if she has any.

Numbness (Ex): A nihilistic champion's ties with the void has rendered her numb to pain and sensation. She gains DR 1/- and each time she is dealt lethal damage she converts a single point of lethal damage into non-lethal damage. Her DR/- stacks with adamantine armor or similar effect, but not other source of damage reduction. Additionally the nihilistic champion gains a +4 bonus to her saving throws against pain effect.

At 3rd level and each 3 levels thereafter she gains an additional point of DR/- and converts an additional point of lethal damage into non-lethal damage. At 6th level she gains a 25% chance to negate a critical hit or precision damage (as per the Fortification enhancement). At 12th level her chance to ignore critical hits and precision damage increases to 50%.

This ability replaces her initial use of Smite Good and all of the antipaladin's Cruelties.

Touch of Destruction (Su): A nihilistic champion's touch of corruption deals typeless damage instead of negative damage and thus cannot be used to heal undead. This otherwise acts just like Touch of Corruption. At 7th level a creature killed by Touch of Destruction is destroyed and reduced to dust as per disintegrate. At 10th level her touch of destruction always overcomes regeneration.

This ability alters Touch of Corruption and replaces the uses of Smite Good which would be gained at 7th and 10th level.

Aura of Heartlessness (Ex): At 3rd level, a nihilistic champion's repudiation of meaning and utter negativity crush those around her. Firstly the nihilistic champion no longer suffers from morale penalty, additionally opponents within 10 feet have any morale bonuses they benefit from suppressed.

This ability replaces Aura of Cowardice and the use of Smite Good which would be gained at 3rd level.

Channel Destruction (Ex): A 3rd level nihilistic champion can channel her touch of destruction through her attacks. This function as if she was wielding a Conductive weapon, except consume only a single use of touch of destruction each time she use this ability.

This ability replaces Channel Negative Energy.

Spells: A nihilistic champion treats all spells in the void school of 4th level or below as on her spell list in addition to her normal antipaladin spells.

This ability alters spellcasting and the use of Smite Good which would be gained at 13th, 16th and 19th level.

Aura of Dullness (Su): At 11th level, a nihilistic champion shares the benefits of her numbness ability with all allies within 10 feet of her.

This ability replaces Aura of Vengeance.

Aura of Nothing (Su): At 17th level the nihilistic champion’s belief in nothingness has manifested physically. She is constantly under the effect of a call of the void spell. She may suppress or resume this ability as a free action.

This ability replaces Aura of Depravity.

Champion of Naught (Ex): A 20th level nihilistic champion is an embodiment of the meaninglessness of life, rendering her utterly numb. She gains DR 10/-, each time she is dealt lethal damage she converts ten points of lethal damage into non-lethal damage and she gains immunity to critical hit, pain-effect, stunning. This benefit overlaps with Numbness, but is not granted by her Aura of Dullness.
