Oakforged Druid Substitution Levels[edit]

Race: Oakforged

Rather than having a connection to animals, Oakborn Druids have a closer connection to plants and the life force of the universe.

To take an Oakforged Druid substitution level, you much be an Oakborn about to take your 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th or 16th level of Druid. Taking Oakforged Druid substitution levels that improve an ability without granting it (Such as the 16th level) instead grant you the lowest-level iteration of that ability. (So if you waited until level 9 to take an Oakforged Druid substitution level, you would gain Venom Immunity and Nature's Vitality, not Greater Nature's Vitality).

Table: The Oakforged Druid

9th +6/+1 +6 +3 +6 Venom Immunity, Greater Nature's Vitality
16th +12/+7/+2 +10 +5 +10 Pinnacle Of Nature's Vitality

Nature's Vitality (Su): Instead of an animal companion, the Oakforged Druid gains the ability to heal living creatures with a touch. This isn't positive energy and cannot be used to harm undead, but doesn't function on creatures that aren't alive. You have a pool of points equal to your Wisdom modifier multiplied by your twice class level. You can bestow any number of these points to an ally by touch, and the pool refills each day. This replaces Animal Companion.

Beginning at 5th level, you can remove harmful conditions affecting the target as well. For every 5 points of your Nature's Vitality you expend, you can cure 1 point of ability damage or remove the dazed, fatigued, or sickened condition from one individual.

Beginning at 9th level, your ability to remove conditions from allies improves. For every 10 points of your Nature's Vitality you expend, you can remove the exhausted, nauseated, poisoned, or stunned condition from one individual.

At 16th level, your ability to cleanse conditions from a target reaches its pinnacle. For every 20 points of your Nature's Vitality you expend, you can remove a negative level or the blinded, deafened, or diseased condition from one individual. This replaces Elemental Shape.

You can remove a condition (or more than one condition) and heal damage with the same touch, so long as you expend the required number of points. For example, if you wanted to heal 12 points of damage and remove the blinded and exhausted conditions from a target, you would have to expend 42 points (12 hit points restored plus 20 points for blinded plus 10 points for exhausted).

Assume Xin'Aean (Su): At 2nd level, you gain the ability to assume a Constellation as an Ascendant does, except that you may only assume Xin'Aean, The Flower. Since you don't possess the Sidereal Blast, Void Ward or Astral Mark abilities, Xin'Aean affects your Druid spells instead, as follows:

  • The changes Xin'Aean grants to your Sidereal Blast instead can apply to any damaging Druid spell you cast.
  • The changes Xin'Aean grants to Void Ward instead apply to the target of any AC-granting Druid spell you cast.
  • The changes Xin'Aean grants to Astral Mark instead apply to the recipient of any Druid spell you cast that heals damage, either for the duration of the spell, or for 1 round per spell level in the cast of instantaneous healing spells.

If you are a Starseeker Druid, these apply to your abilities normally.

Plant Shape (Su): This functions just like Wild Shape, except that instead of transforming into an Animal creature, you transform into a Plant creature. This replaces Wild Shape.
