After the success of skycranes to deliver all manner of extraplanetary devices, the AI powered skycrane drone saw use in the battlefield and in crisis situations where its ability to hover and drag heavy loads proved beneficial.

Used by multiple companies, these devices are built like quadcopters or in diamond configurations, with engines able to swivel to allow VTOL capability and its underside marked with clasping grippers to pick up and lift or drop any cargo. Sensors allow it to compensate for all manner of turbulence, and it serves much the same roll as a helicopter would. With most of its body consisting of powerful engines, fuel, and a sparse frame, it has a high lift ratio for its relatively small size.

Combat

Skycranes are not combat craft and have no weapons, but in a pinch it can grab, lift, drop, and throw unwilling targets to their demise.

Advanced Flight Systems (Ex): Percys are gifted with detailed satellite maps and up to date network relays. So long as it has been given information on an area, it can never be lost. Even when lost, it actively builds a map of the area and shares it with its kin upon next time it is in contact. The advanced flight systems also provides a +10 racial bonus to any check to remain stable, maintaining flight, or resisting the effects of wind. In the event of the vehicle being at 0 hp or less (but not more than its maximum hp in negative hp) the body of the craft is intact and it will attempt to crash land as gently as possible. Its occupants and cargo only take 1/2 damage from falling. After crashing, the percy is destroyed with its cargo hopefully intact.

Claspers: While not equipped with weapons or hands, a percys clasping grip can grab onto creatures up to its own size, and can employ Snatch up to only one size smaller than it. The soft pads which are part of the claspers prevent it from dealing damage by constriction or on a successful grapple check.

Heavy Lifter: A percy has a lifting capacity of a large quadruped, with a +10 bonus on Strength for the purpose of carrying capacity. For this model its light load is 2800 lbs and under, its medium load is 2801-5600 lbs, and its heavy load is 5601-8400 lbs. It can still fly at reduced speed at medium and heavy loads.

Programming: The percy possesses the following programs: Collect, Identify Creature, Identify Object, Reposition, Search, and Self-Preservation.

Construction

A percy TD-20 skycrane are build out of a composite of many different metals, plastics, and alloys which must be processed in a factory. In addition its computer core requires special components and programming. The cost of the base material components are worth 1800 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 22 Craft (technology) check, a DC 22 Knowledge Engineering, or a DC 22 Knowledge Xeno check.

CL 9th; Craft Construct, grasping hand, lesser geas; Price 18,000 gp; Cost 8,100 gp + 648 XP.
