1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
This katana has a smooth curve in the blade and a matching sheathe. It can be used as a two-handed martial weapon much like the bastard sword. However those with Exotic Weapon Proficiency in this weapon gain the following abilities.
The weapon is unusually easy to draw and sheathe, both able to be done as part of an attack action (sheathing still provokes, however). If you have the Quick Draw feat, you can draw or sheathe as a free action instead. You can always sheathe as a free action at the end of your turn regardless if you have Quick Draw or not.
You can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a quickening katana sized for you, even though it isn’t a light weapon for you.
In addition you gain access to the following Weapon Arts:
Blizzard of Blades: As a full attack action you can make an attack as if you had the Infinite Flurry feat, except limited to this weapon and its scaling its based on your BAB instead of your monk level. In addition the square you attacked remains a danger until the start of your next turn, and any creature which passes through it is subject to your attack. The square you attack in is considered to provide total concealment for the purpose of ranged attacks as your rapid bladework deflects incoming hazard.
After your blizzard of blades, you are rendered fatigued for 1 round, bypassing immunities. You cannot use blizzard of blades when fatigued or exhausted.
Rising Sun Strike: As a standard action when your sword is not drawn, you can move up to half your speed in a straight line and make a single attack. This counts as a charge attack, and does not provoke attacks of opportunity for moving as you rapidly come in for the kill.
Falling Bamboo Forest: You gain the use of Cleave using this weapon. If you have the Cleave feat, you gain Great Cleave. If you have Great Cleave, you may attack two targets in range with a single attack roll.
