Rocket Legs (3.5e Equipment)

These cybernetic legs can be designed to resemble real legs, or appear fully mechanical. They grant the user the abilities of wearing rocket boots when activated as a swift action, exhaust ports appearing along the foot and back of the leg as well as minor vents around the body in general. In addition to the rocket boot function they can enter flight mode where the exhaust ports are far more pronounced and replace much of the walking foot. Toggling flight mode is a move action which grants a fly speed (good) equal to twice the users usual land speed, but the user treats walking as difficult terrain since the exhausts make for poor feet. If F.U.E.L. is used, it consumes 1 unit of F.U.E.L. for every minute of operation. Mundane footwear is destroyed by flight mode, while magical footwear is absorbed and continues functioning as normal.
The user benefits from the Cruising Altitude feat. Cruising is highly efficient, and only consumes 1 F.U.E.L. every 10 minutes of flight. If they already have the feat, their speed is x100 instead of x10, but only at 30,000 ft or higher. At this altitude you suffer from high peak altitude effects, and the Fortitude save is made every 3 hours.
You can install a fusion cell to remove the F.U.E.L. requirements. For the purpose of the rocket boot's more explosive functions, you can consume up to 10 F.U.E.L. (though no F.U.E.L. is actually expended) at your own risk.
Because this is a mechanical graft, it functions on non-living creatures as well unlike normal grafts.
