"Academies of magic group spells into eight categories called schools of magic. Scholars, particularly wizards, apply these categories to all spells, believing that all magic functions in essentially the same way, whether it derives from rigorous study or is bestowed by a deity. The schools of magic help describe spells; they have no rules of their own, although some rules refer to the schools."

Not all wizards. Psionics is a type of magic is it not? It is not from rigorous study nor truly bestowed by a deity. Cedric (talk) 13:18, 20 July 2018 (MDT)

Point us to where it says that in the 5th Edition Player's Handbook? Especially since Psionics have yet to be released in any real format in any book in 5e, apart from a few Gith traits that allow them to simply use spells that have a more psionic flavor. --Ghostwheel (talk) 14:56, 20 July 2018 (MDT)
Correct, it is flavorfully not magic. Also it’s #YesAllWizards and #NotAllMagic MadmanFromSpace (talk) 15:56, 20 July 2018 (MDT)
"PSIONICS A monster that casts spells using only the power of its mind has the psionics tag added to its Spellcasting or Innate Spellcasting special trait. This tag carries no special rules of its own, but other parts of the game might refer to it. A monster that has this tag typically doesn't require any components to cast its spells." - Monster Manual (5e), p.11. --Rlyehable (talk) 21:36, 20 July 2018 (MDT)
