Sahuagin Paragon[edit]

Even among the notoriously bloodthirsty sahuagin, there are those feared for their viciousness and strength. Fortunately for those who combat the sahuagin, these particular specimens are easily identified by their brutal combat ability and, in the worst cases, more arms than normal.

Sometimes, the best sahuagin paragons are the ones that are not seen until it’s too late, masquerading as aquatic elves until the time comes to strike.

Making a Sahuagin Paragon[edit]

Tough guys who are brutal in melee, sahuagin paragons charge into battle brandishing wicked melee weapons or their claws.

Abilities: Sahuagin expect their leaders to be strong melee combatants, so Strength is the most important ability for a sahuagin paragon.

Races: Must be a sahuagin.

Alignment: Any.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the sahuagin paragon.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Sahuagin paragons are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, even though they tend to prefer their claws in combat.

Blood Frenzy (Ex): When a sahuagin senses blood, it goes bat-shit insane. When the sahuagin paragon makes a successful melee attack or is struck in melee, it may enter a blood frenzy as an immediate action. During a blood frenzy, the sahuagin paragon incurs a -2 penalty to Armor Class, but gains a +2 bonus to attack rolls and an additional 1d6 bonus damage per two class levels. The blood frenzy can be ended voluntarily as an immediate action, but automatically ends when the sahuagin paragon goes 3 turns without getting struck in melee or hitting with a melee attack.

Raid Leader (Ex): A sahuagin paragon gains a +5 foot bonus to its swim speed per level it possesses in this paragon class. It also gains a bonus to its base movement speed equal to one half the bonus accorded to its swim speed.

Rend (Ex): If a sahuagin hits with two of its claw attacks, it deals additional damage equal to its base claw damage + 1 ½ times it Strength modifier as its talons rip into flesh.

Multiattack: At 2nd level, the sahuagin paragon gains Multiattack as a bonus feat. At 4th level, it gains Improved Multiattack as another bonus feat.

Land Adapted (Ex): A 2nd level sahuagin paragon can now breathe on land as easily as he can in the water.

Shark Rider (Ex): A sahuagin paragon of 3rd level or higher gains a shark (with a maximum CR of its character level -2) as a companion. Templates may be applied to the shark in order to make its CR the appropriate amount. The sahuagin may communicate telepathically with its shark companion within a distance of 150 feet.

Razor Claws (Ex): A 4th level sahuagin paragon gains increased damage for each of his natural weapons as if he had taken the Improved Natural Attack feat for each of them (consult the table on the feat’s page for damage increases). This stacks with the actual Improved Natural Attack feat.

Malenti (Ex): As a move action usable at will, a sahuagin paragon of 5th level can change into a form resembling an aquatic elf. While this may not offer the same combat potential as its natural form, the sahuagin paragon is able to use this ability to infiltrate areas he normally could not access.

Extra Arms (Ex): At 6th level, a sahuagin paragon gains the Extra Arms feat even if he does not meet the prerquisites, gaining two more claw attacks that each deal the same amount of damage as the two normal arms. These extra arms also allow him to make multiple rend attacks in a single turn. Any feats that the sahuagin paragon possesses related to two-weapon fighting are now extended to multi-weapon fighting.
