Upon casting this spell the caster is absorbed in her own shadow, if she project no shadow in the area the spell fail. While in shadow form the caster exist essentially on a flat surface, allowing her to move up wall or enter space as if she was a fine creature. However the caster cannot enter area of total darkness and if she does the spell end. The caster is extremely hard to detect in shadow form, gaining a +8 bonus to hide checks and Hide in Plain Sight as well as being perfectly silent (always succeeding Move Silently checks).
In shadow form the caster is not invulnerable but count as Incorporeal against incoming attacks. However in shadow form the caster is unable to attack normally and being perfectly silent, may be unable to cast spell unless she possess Silent Spell.
However the caster may attack the shadow of creatures while in shadow form, they have the same AC, saving throws and other defenses as the original creature. Any damage or status effect dealt to a creature's shadow is passed on the original creature 1 round after it is dealt, making this spell extremely effective for assassination.
If cast in a 4th level spell slot, this become Greater Shadow Haunter with a duration of 1 round/level.
If cast in a 6th level slot, this become Superior Shadow Haunter with a duration of 1 minute/level.
