Shield Bands[edit]
Shield bands, little more than bracers themselves, grant the protection of a shield without the drawbacks of a buckler.
Worn like a pair of bracers around the arms and wrists, shield bands are simple metal rings with shock absorbing plates on them. They grant a +1 shield bonus to AC and may be used with two-weapon fighting, two-handed weapons, and ranged attacks without penalty to the attack roll. Their tight constriction around the arms does impede the delicate motions needed for spellcasting. You cannot shield bash with shield bands.
