This unusually thick, saber-like rapier +1 is a detailed blade marked with strange arcane runes and tattoos on its hilt and guard, black glyphs on sharply contrasted bone white material. The blade seems to be composed of stark white and pitch black bands which move and flow of their own accord over the surface of where the blade is. It is as if someone turned the contrast on a chrome surface til there was only black and white. When swung, it emanates pale white flames, the Lesser Holy effect on it manifesting.
The blade is partly infused with shadowstuff from the Plane of Shadow, and it shows. It vibrates when near portals between the two planes, and when used while traveling via Shadow Walk, you are placed off course only half as far as you normally would without it. If the wielder of the blade is the caster of the spell, this benefit applies to all those traveling with the caster.
On the Plane of Shadow, the Shining Shadow flares up with bright white light around it's blade, becoming a Holy weapon. It also sheds 30 ft. of bright light and 30 ft. of shadowy illumination beyond that. Treat as a 5th level spell for determining the effects of spells which counter light. As it is something unusual on the Plane of Shadow, such bright light is bound to attract unwanted attention.
