This dagger has an unusually long hilt and a strange blade, apparently made of silver light and pulsing with a chrome "reflection" which does not reflect its outsides. It looks like someone forged it out of liquid mercury.
The silverlight blade is a +1 dagger with unusual properties. When successfully striking a creature the blade grows longer, increasing damage to that of a short sword (1d6 for medium). Subsequent attacks increase the length to that a longsword (1d8) and greatsword (2d6), and counting as both a light weapon and a one-handed (and subsequently two-handed) weapon whenever beneficial, including the ability to add strength one and a half times as a greatsword, even when held in one hand. A successful hit from greatsword form causes it to gain reach, though it is still able to attack adjucant squares unlike most reach weapons. Its growth stops here.
The blade shrinks in size (down to dagger form) every time you miss with an attack, or for each minute which passes. The weapon is considered silver for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction. It counts as a dagger, longsword, and greatsword for the purpose of weapon-specific effects.
