There are places where the light of Lords does not reach. This miraculous spell aims to fix that with a blaze of righteous absolution.

Focusing the energies of the divine within your outstretched palm, you condense radiant sunlight into a spear of crackling golden energy. The sunlight spear functions as a +3 keen adamantine spear with the ghost touch and shocking burst qualities and casts light as per the daylight spell. The sunlight spear's enhancement bonus increases by 1 for every 3 caster levels above 11th. Attack and damage rolls with the spear use the caster's highest mental ability score, instead of Strength or Dexterity. If the sunlight spear is ever discarded or removed from the caster's hand (for example by a successful disarm attempt), the spell ends.

The sunlight spear is the bane of undead creatures and creatures that are harmed by light, and can score critical hits normally on these creatures. Any attack made against a creature that is mortally baned by daylight, such as a vampire, is an automatic critial threat.

As a standard action, the sunlight spear may be thrown, and doing so reveals the spell's true power. The resulting ranged attack deals 1d6 points of electricity damage per caster level to the target in addition to its usual attack damage (no save), and creates a 10-foot-radius burst of electricity centered on the target that deals an additional 1d6 points of damage per 2 caster levels to any creature in the area including the initial target (Reflex half). If the attack misses or if the caster does not choose a specific target, the area effect still occurs. If the target or area is submerged partially in water, the area effect becomes a 20-foot-radius burst and the electricity damage increases to 1d6 per caster level.

Undead and any creatures that have light vulnerability or that otherwise take penalties when exposed to bright illumination do not benefit from any resistance or immunity to electricity. Any creature that takes damage from the sunlight spear's thrown attack must make a Fortitude save or become stunned for 1 round. Throwing the sunlight spear ends the spell.
