Valiant Dragoon
The dragoons are heavily-armored cavalry known for their skills with firearms from horseback. This archetype is designed for firearm-wielding cavalier in a setting where martial firearms are somewhat common. Cavaliers with this archetype who traded their mount are usually instead known as valiant musketeers.
Class: Cavalier
Level: 1st-20th
Replaces: Challenge (Altered), Bonus Feat (6th), Demanding Challenge
Benefit: A valiant dragoon gain the following class features:
All-Range Challenge (Ex): A valiant dragoon’s challenge bonus to damage applies to both melee and ranged attack, but is reduced to half the cavalier’s level (minimum 1). At 4th level, this increases to the cavalier’s full level, but she does not gain an extra use of challenge this level.
This ability alters challenge.
Gun Training (Ex): At 6th level, a valiant dragoon gains a gunslinger’s gun training class feature as a gunslinger of her cavalier level –1.
This ability replaces the bonus feat gained at 6th level and demanding challenge.
