Wereheart

Rather than gaining a companion for life, being raised by animals has tainted you with a touch of lycanthropy, and this manifests in your rage.

Class: Beastheart

Level: 1-20

Replaces: Packmate, Share Rage

Benefit: Your Rage becomes Lycanrage. You also have the Rage progression of the Barbarian (With the exception of Tireless Rage, which is still gained at 13th level), including gaining Mighty Rage at 20th level.

Lycanrage (Ex): At first level, the Beastheart chooses an animal within; The animal cannot thereafter be changed. When they enter Rage, they take on the traits of this animal (Shown below) and gain the Shapechanger subtype. During their Rage, their effective Beastheart level, for the purposes of all class abilities except Rage and its improvements, increases by 4.

  • Ape: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart's Strength bonus is increased by one-half, their effective size category increases by one (Increasing unarmed damage and grapple bonuses without giving them a penalty to attack rolls or Hide checks) and they gain a secondary Bite attack appropriate for their original size (1d6 for Medium creatures). Even while not Raging, they also gain a Climb speed equal to their land speed, have a +8 racial bonus on Climb checks and may take 10 on Climb checks even when rushed or threatened.
  • Bear: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart's Constitution bonus is increased by one-half, their effective size category increases by one (Increasing unarmed damage and grapple bonuses without giving them a penalty to attack rolls or Hide checks), they grow claws (Which allow their Unarmed Strike to deal piercing and slashing damage instead of bludgeoning) and they gain a secondary Bite attack appropriate for their current size (1d8 for Medium creatures). They also gain the Improved Grab ability, allowing them to initiate a Grapple as a free action without provoking attacks of opportunity when they hit with a "Claw" attack. Even while not raging, the Beastheart gains the Scent ability.
  • Bull/Bison: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart's Constitution bonus is increased by one-half, their effective size category increases by one (Increasing unarmed damage and grapple bonuses without giving them a penalty to attack rolls or Hide checks), and they gain the benefits of the Improved Overrun and Improved Bull Rush feats, as well as being able to perform a free Overrun attempt when you successfully Bull Rush an opponent on a charge, as long as you have enough movement speed to still Overrun the opponent after you've knocked them back. When you run over them, you get a free Unarmed attack against them. Even while not Raging, you have a +10 racial bonus to your land speed, the Stability racial trait and a pair of small horns that grant you a Gore attack appropriate for your size (1d6 for Medium creatures). The Gore attack is always the weapon used when performing the above Bull-specific maneuver.
  • Great Cat: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart gains a Dexterity bonus equal to the Strength bonus granted by their Rage, their effective size category increases by one (Increasing unarmed damage and grapple bonuses without giving them a penalty to attack rolls or Hide checks), and they gain a secondary Bite attack appropriate for their current size (1d8 for Medium creatures). Furthermore, they gain a +4 racial bonus on Balance, Climb, Hide, Jump and Move Silently checks, and gain a pair of Rake attacks appropriate to their size (1d4 each for Medium creatures). They may also Pounce; This allows them to make a full attack at the end of a Charge (Including two Rake attacks). Finally, if they hit an opponent with Claw or Bite attack, they may make a Trip attempt as a free action without provoking attacks of opportunity; If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot attempt to trip them in return. Even while not Raging, the Beastheart possesses claws (Allowing their Unarmed Strike to deal piercing and slashing damage instead of bludgeoning) and the Scent ability.
  • Horse: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart's Constitution bonus is increased by one-half, their effective size category increases by one (Increasing unarmed damage and grapple bonuses without giving them a penalty to attack rolls or Hide checks), a +4 racial bonus on Listen checks, the Stability racial trait and they gain a +3 bonus to Natural Armor. Furthermore, they gain the benefits of the Improved Overrun and can trample the target, making a free Unarmed attack against them on a successful Overrun. Even while not Raging, the Beastheart's carrying capacity is increase as if they were a quaruped, and they gain a +5ft racial bonus to their movement speed per point of Constitution bonus.
  • Rat: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart gains a Dexterity bonus equal to the Strength bonus granted by their Rage, they grow claws (Which allow their Unarmed Strike to deal piercing and slashing damage instead of bludgeoning), and they gain a secondary Bite attack appropriate for their current size (1d6 for Medium creatures); The bite also inflicts Filth Fever (DC is Constitution-based). Furthermore, they gain a +6 racial bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks. Even while not Raging, the Beastheart has a +8 racial bonus on Swim and Climb checks, has a Climb speed equal to their land speed and can always take 10 on Climb checks, even when rushed or threatened.
  • Wolf: During the Beastheart's Lycanrage, the Beastheart gains a Dexterity bonus equal to the Strength bonus granted by their Rage, their effective size category increases by one (Increasing unarmed damage and grapple bonuses without giving them a penalty to attack rolls or Hide checks), and they gain a secondary Bite attack appropriate for their current size (1d8 for Medium creatures). Furthermore, they gain a +4 racial bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks. When they hit with a bite attempt, they may attempt to Trip that target as a free action without having to make another attack and without provoking attacks of opportunity; If they fail, their target cannot react to trip them in return. Even when not Raging, the Beastheart gains the Track feat for free, the Scent special ability, a +4 racial bonus while tracking foes by Scent, a +10 racial bonus to the land speed and the Swift Tracker special ability.
