Wind Weaver Spell Cards

The wind bullet of the wind mage is a bit different from its main counterparts, the warlock's eldritch blast and the pyromaniac's fire bolt. As a result, a wind mage who decides to become an eldritch weaver finds that their spell cards work a little bit differently.

Class: Eldritch Weaver

Prerequisites: Must have qualified for the prestige class by being a wind mage

Level: All

Replaces: Spell Cards, Bonus Options

Benefit: The effects of the eldritch weaver's spell cards are modified to account for the smaller damage die and pushback effect of the wind mage's wind bullet. The altered effects of the spell cards are provided below:

Least Spell Cards:

  • Curtain Fire: As normal, and victims are pushed out to the end of the cone in addition to the damage.
  • Eruption: As normal, and victims that fail their Reflex saves are pushed out to the edge of the burst.
  • Rainstorm: As normal, but the damage is modified in terms of d4s instead of d6s.

Lesser Spell Cards:

  • Bolt Hornet: As normal, except that it can pin an opponent within 10 feet of a wall or obstacle to that obstacle, pulling them to the wall/obstacle if they are not directly adjacent.
  • Bright Fall: As normal, and a flying creature that fails its Reflex save is pushed down to the bottom of the cylinder and 10 feet per caster level further, taking falling damage if it hits the ground; on a successful save, it is simply pushed out of the cylinder. A non-flying creature that fails its Reflex save is pushed out of the cylinder.
  • Jormungand: As normal. Opponents struck by the beam are always shunted off to the side, taking the pushback of the wind bullet; they cannot be pushed into a square that the beam travels through.
  • Scattershot: As normal, and opponents who fail the Reflex save are pushed all the way to the far edge of the cone, while opponents who succeed are shunted out to the side.

Greater Spell Cards:

  • Double Curse: As normal. Pushback is applied on each hit.
  • Frozen Memory: As normal, and an enemy who fails their Reflex save to pass through one of your walls is checked.
  • Mana Buster: As normal, and the wind bullet's pushback increases along with the damage: with one round of charging, the pushback is doubled; with two rounds of charging, the pushback is tripled. Holding the charge does not increase the pushback any further.
  • Ring Shell: As normal, and creatures that fail on the Reflex save are pushed away from you, with the pushback equaling your wind bullet's.
  • Starburst: As normal, and all struck creatures are pushed out of the radius.

Final Spell Cards:

  • Destruction Rains from the Heavens: As normal, and anyone you hit is pushed out of the radius.
  • Dimensional Rip: As normal, but the gateway to the Astral Plane created by the spell card sucks in anything within a 20-foot radius (instead of the usual 10-foot radius).
  • Lumina: As normal, and failure on the Fortitude save also pushes a creature out of the area.
  • Master Spark: As normal, and opponents who fail the Fortitude save are pushed all the way to the far edge of the cone, while opponents who succeed are shunted out to the side.
  • Ra-Tilt: As normal, and if the initial victim makes its saving throw, it is flung 1d10×10 feet into the air in addition to the damage, and creatures attempting to pass through the column of light are checked if they fail the Fortitude save.
  • Starstorm: As normal, and the shining towers push creatures who fail their Reflex saves outside of the radius.

Additionally, the wind weaver's options fire wind bullets instead of eldritch blasts; as a result, they deal damage appropriate to the wind bullet (in d4s rather than d6s) and inflict pushback on hit.
