Witchknife

The witchblade has her power born out of the dark rituals and pacts made by her ancestor, creating a weapon out of pure magical energy. The witchblade lacks much of the psionic abilities normally associated with the soulknife, but gains powerful magical abilities.

Class: SoulknifeDreamscarred Press (High Psionic)

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Medium Armor Proficiency, Unlocked Talent, Manifesting, Psychic Strike (Altered)

Benefit: A witchknife receive the following class features:

This archetype is designed to work for the High Psionic soulknife, but is of a level of power to be allowed in games without High Psionic if material such Path of War is allowed.

Force of Personality (Ex): A witchknife uses her Charisma instead of her Wisdom for any soulknife ability she gains, such as blade skills that rely on Wisdom for determining save DC. She also uses her Charisma instead of her Wisdom for abilities gained from prestige classes that advance her mind blade.

Invocations: A witchknife is able to cast invocations like a WarlockCA of her class level. She can only select general invocation and eldritch essence, not shapes. She gain access to higher grade of invocations at the same level a warlock would.

Because the somatic components required for witchknife invocations are relatively simple, a witchknife can use any of her invocations while wearing light armor without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. However, like arcane spellcasters, a witchknife wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure (all invocations have a somatic component). A multiclass witchknife still incurs the normal arcane spell failure chance for arcane spells received from levels in other classes.

This ability replaces the soulknife's medium armor proficiency, unlocked talent and manifesting.

Psionic Invoker (Ex): Despite having no power points, the witchknife still has the psionic subtype and can gain psionic focus. They may use their caster level in place of their manifester level for any feats. They must still meet all other prerequisites.

Eldritch Strike (Su): At 3rd level a witchknife receives the psychic strike class feature as normal, except that it deals pure magic damage and is not mind-affecting. If the witchknife has a class feature or feat which alters the damage type dealt by her psychic strike, she may deal the modified energy type or pure magic damage, at her option. Additionally, when she discharges her psychic strike, the witchknife may modify it with one of her eldritch essences. The essence applies to the struck creature, as if the attack enhanced with psychic strike was an eldritch blast. This always only affects the first attack made, even if the psychic strike would carry over multiple attacks.

This ability modifies psychic strike. This ability does not cause the witchknife archetype to be incompatible with other archetypes that alter the psychic class feature, so long as it still retains the ability.
