Zonai[edit]

Ancient magical anthromorphic humanoids with three eyes and long ears. These are an attempt to create the zonai race from Tears of the Kingdom. They are camelid looking creatures typically with dark gray fur and white manes of hair, though some come in variations of various colors, such as dark green, and other typical hair types such as red. Their sharp teeth belay a carnivorous or omnivorous nature. Most do not possess tails, but some seem to have lion-like tails.

They are taller than most, ranging from 6 to 8 feet tall.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • -2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence or +2 Wisdom or +2 Charisma: Zonai have powerful minds and spirit, though how it manifest varies. Their bodies are long and gangly.
  • Humanoid (Anthro): Zonai resemble camels or goats, but retain humanoid form. 
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, a zonai has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • Zonai base land speed is 30 feet.  
  • Darkvision: A zonai can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and a zonai can function just fine with no light at all. 
  • Powerful Build: The physical stature of zonai lets them function in many ways as if they were one size category larger. Whenever a zonai is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the zonai is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him. A zonai is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature’s special attacks based on size (such as improved grab or swallow whole) can affect him. A zonai can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty. However, his space and reach remain those of a creature of his actual size. The benefits of this racial trait stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject’s size category
  • Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): At will-mage hand, stickSpC. At 3 HD, their mage hand and stick abilities improve to affect a number of pounds equal to twice their HD (maximum 40 lbs at 20 HD). 
  • Third Eye (Su): Zonai are deeply attuned to the flow of magic, and typically keep their third eye which serves as a focus closed. They may unleash the power of their third eye 2/day as a swift action, gaining either a +2 CL boost on the next spell they cast before the end of their turn, a +1 ML boost to their next power manifested before the end of their turn, or a +4 bonus on any attack roll, ability roll, or skill check made before the end of their turn. 
  • Skills: Zonai always treat Craft skills as trained skills, with a +2 racial bonus on any Craft check. They may also use Use Magic Device untrained. If they gain ranks in Use Magic Device, they gain a +2 racial bonus.
  • Automatic Languages: Common and Draconic
  • Bonus Languages: Any (except secret languages)
  • Favored Class: Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer
  • Level Adjustment: +0
  • Effective Character Level: 1
