With a gesture you summon a barbed spear floating in front of you, which rotates towards your designated target. As you utter the last word of the incantation, the spear snaps forward to its target faster than the eye can follow.
This spell is effective against mobile targets, since the spear comes at them too quickly to dodge. When you cast this spell, make a ranged attack roll against the target's flat-footed AC. Though the target is denied its Dexterity bonus, the spell's aim is not precise enough to deal Sneak Attack or other precision-based damage. On a hit, the spear does 1d8 piercing damage per 2 caster levels (max 10d8).
Special: If this spell is cast underwater, it is even more deadly. The spear moves so quickly that it generates a shockwave, which hits the target even if the spear itself missed. The target takes an additional 1d6 damage per 2 caster levels, and must make a Fortitude save to avoid being dazed for one round. On a miss with the spear the target may make a Fort save for half damage from the shockwave, and is not dazed.
