Battlefield Apothecary [ToP Skill]
As the man with the meds on the front lines, everyone pretty much loves you.
Benefits: This is a skill feat intended for use with the Tome of Prowess. It scales with your ranks in Healing.
- 4 ranks: You can package your skill in materials that anyone can apply to patch themselves up. These are often called detoxifying health stimulants or just "stims" by those on the front lines. Other creatures may use these stims to activate certain healing abilities with their actions while using your bonuses. Available actions are based on your ranks in the skill, as indicated in this feat, but a stim may be used for any available action from the list. They also provide a bonus to you when used as part of a healing ability. Initially they function mostly as anti-venoms. A creature may apply one to themselves or another creature to gain the benefit of the mitigate poison ability. If you use a stim as part of a mitigate poison action you roll your healing check twice, instead of once, when the second poison save comes due.
- 9 ranks: Your stims can provide a little pick me up for a wounded warrior. Your stims may now duplicate the immediate healing ability. If you use a stim as part of an immediate healing action, you reduce the penalty for previous healing attempts by 5 points.
- 14 ranks: Your stims can purge some nasty stuff from a body. Your stims may now duplicate a treat the symptoms ability, but only for the target who receives the stim. The stim may be applied as a swift action for this purpose, however. You may use a stim as a free action during a treat the symptoms action; in which case you roll twice for the target and give them the better result.
- 19 ranks: Your stims can make a heart race, even one that has recently stopped pumping. In addition to the other abilities, creatures may use one of your stims to duplicate the effect of your resuscitate ability. If you use the item yourself as part of the resuscitate action, you reduce the penalty for multiple healing attempts by 10 points.
Special: You can create a number of stims equal to your ranks in healing with 1 hour of work, and you may not create more than this amount in any 24 hour period. These decay after 24 hours, so you will need to create and distribute a new batch each day.
